Biography
Dr. Hilel Hagai Diamandi is a postdoctoral researcher in the Rakich Group, where he explores the intersection of quantum optics and phonons in cryogenic systems. His current work focuses on developing high-precision optical cavities and low-temperature platforms to study optomechanical interactions at the quantum level. Hagai completed his Ph.D. at Bar-Ilan University under the supervision of Prof. Avi Zadok, investigating forward Brillouin scattering in various optical fiber geometries for sensing and signal processing applications. He enjoys combining fundamental physics with hands-on experimental work. In the summer of 2025, Hagai will return to Israel to launch his own lab at the Department of Applied Physics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
